We took advantage of our summer holidays to hike four days from Cauteret to Gavarnie. After 2 days of rain everything was wet. We continue with the breakfast that we share with another couple. We discover a brand new view that now extends eastward with Gavarnie in the distance. We stop for a coffee and we begin the long (!) descent to Gavarnie: 1200m D- and 15km\u00a0 &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>The beginning of the trail is rapidly losing altitude, it evolves in the canyon dug by the river. The landscapes are beautiful. It is very hot now as we have lost a lot of altitude and the sun is hot. Short meal break and we hit the road again. We follow the GR10 at about 1800m. The landscapes have changed a lot. We left the high mountain for the pastures and there are many cows. Between the 1600m of cumulative descent, the horizontal distance and the temperatures, we will be happy to arrive in Gavarnie in the prospect of a good hot shower, a good bed and a restaurant!<\/p>\n<p>Joy nuanced by the impressive crowd that the circus attracts. On the other hand all disappear after 6-7pm and the city becomes dead until the next day 8pm for a new human tide. However the circus is worth a visit because it&#8217;s impressive. Despite the first days of bad weather we still enjoyed the beautiful scenery on the second half of the trek. Ce n\u2019est que r\u00e9cemment que j\u2019ai commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 explorer le (Grand) Nord avec, d\u2019abord, l\u2019Islande puis la Norv\u00e8ge entre le Svalbard et les Lofoten et la Su\u00e8de avec la Kungsleden. Je n\u2019en finis pas d\u2019\u00eatre \u00e9merveill\u00e9 par cette \u00ab r\u00e9gion \u00bb du monde et toutes les possibilit\u00e9s de treks qu\u2019elle r\u00e9serve. La randonn\u00e9e en autonomie est une activit\u00e9 formidable. On \u00e9volue dans les plus beaux paysages qui soit, on prend le temps de savourer, on r\u00e9fl\u00e9chit, on se perd. L\u2019introspection est forte lorsque l\u2019on s\u2019\u00e9vade dans les grands espaces inhumains, c\u2019est le moment de se d\u00e9couvrir et de d\u00e9couvrir ceux qui vous accompagne, comme le dit un proverbe islandais \u00ab l\u2019aiguille de la boussole ne m\u00e8ne qu\u2019\u00e0 soit m\u00eame \u00bb. C\u2019est aussi l\u2019occasion de laisser derri\u00e8re TV, internet et smartphone et de revenir \u00e0 la base : avancer, avoir chaud, se prot\u00e9ger, manger\u2026 Je souhaitais donc partager cette passion, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ce blog, au travers de mes carnets mais \u00e9galement gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ce que j\u2019ai pu apprendre sur le terrain. Cette passion s\u2019est ensuite d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e d\u2019avantage avec mon premier \u00ab grand \u00bb trek : le Tour des Annapurnas au N\u00e9pal et de multiples randonn\u00e9es dans les Alpes. J\u2019ai \u00e9galement d\u00e9couvert l\u2019alpinisme gr\u00e2ce auquel on explore une autre facette de la montagne encore plus intime gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l\u2019engagement qu\u2019il n\u00e9cessite. Ce n\u2019est que r\u00e9cemment que j\u2019ai commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 explorer le (Grand) Nord avec, d\u2019abord, l\u2019Islande puis la Norv\u00e8ge entre le Svalbard et les Lofoten et la Su\u00e8de avec la Kungsleden. Je n\u2019en finis pas d\u2019\u00eatre \u00e9merveill\u00e9 par cette \u00ab r\u00e9gion \u00bb du monde et toutes les possibilit\u00e9s de treks qu\u2019elle r\u00e9serve. La randonn\u00e9e en autonomie est une activit\u00e9 formidable. On \u00e9volue dans les plus beaux paysages qui soit, on prend le temps de savourer, on r\u00e9fl\u00e9chit, on se perd. L\u2019introspection est forte lorsque l\u2019on s\u2019\u00e9vade dans les grands espaces inhumains, c\u2019est le moment de se d\u00e9couvrir et de d\u00e9couvrir ceux qui vous accompagne, comme le dit un proverbe islandais \u00ab l\u2019aiguille de la boussole ne m\u00e8ne qu\u2019\u00e0 soit m\u00eame \u00bb. C\u2019est aussi l\u2019occasion de laisser derri\u00e8re TV, internet et smartphone et de revenir \u00e0 la base : avancer, avoir chaud, se prot\u00e9ger, manger\u2026 Je souhaitais donc partager cette passion, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ce blog, au travers de mes carnets mais \u00e9galement gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ce que j\u2019ai pu apprendre sur le terrain. J\u2019esp\u00e8re que vous trouverez de quoi vous \u00e9vader le temps d\u2019un r\u00e9cit, de quoi vous donner des id\u00e9es pour une prochaine aventure ou les r\u00e9ponses \u00e0 vos questions sur le mat\u00e9riel et la pr\u00e9paration.
